About The Position

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) is seeking an experienced Accessory Planner to join their Accessories team. This full-time role involves establishing and executing the planning and strategy for Toyota and Lexus accessory products to support vehicle sales and TCI profit generation. The planner will ensure effective communication with internal and external partners for all accessory planning and explore opportunities for global sales expansion (export/import) of accessory products.

Requirements

  • University Degree/College Diploma in Business or Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in product planning preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Proficiency with SAP/IBP
  • Experience with BI tool (Business Intelligence reporting)
  • Familiarity with budgeting or forecasting
  • Automotive experience is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven multi-tasking/multi-project management skills
  • Able to work against fixed deadlines and set priorities to achieve targets
  • Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate to achieve tangible results
  • Desire and ability to initiate and improve work processes to increase efficiencies
  • Proven leadership in driving projects to success
  • Ability to partner with business units

Responsibilities

  • Analyze vehicle, market and accessory trends to ensure that vehicle accessory lineups support vehicle sales, market needs, and have potential for profit generation.
  • Construct NEW/FMC/MMC Vehicle Accessory Development plans/strategies to present to management for approval.
  • Use data sources (field staff, Dealers, market reports, other Toyota Distributors, Vendors) in the detailed analysis of accessory and market trends to ensure the creation of the most effective accessory lineups; determine if existing accessory items should be cancelled due to poor performance or altered if market potential exists.
  • Work with Toyota Motor Corporation - Accessory Division to support the accessory creation process and ensure all requirements to complete the planning and development are achieved.
  • Regularly update line sheets with accessory planning information.
  • Recommend new products for consideration.
  • Perform business case analysis. Determine target pricing along with forecasted annual sales, revenue and profit for a particular accessory line, and make recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate accessory mass planning by vehicle.
  • Facilitate various project management meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and coordinate opportunities for expansion of global accessory export/import sales.
  • Draft and document departmental SOPs.
  • Continuously identify and implement kaizen for operations & processes, work cooperatively with other departments/affiliates/stakeholders to provide quality customer service.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting support and other duties as required.
