About The Position

The Accessioning Technician will be responsible for the accurate and timely entry of various types of patient information into databases. This includes assisting accessioning staff with entry of client orders for testing (accessioning) and entry of other pertinent information in databases, as requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and PC workstation.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or college coursework.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all standard operating procedures specific to assigned department/laboratory, which may include, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Receive and open packages of patient specimens for accessioning;
  • Accession samples into clinical database;
  • Enter/scan all relevant patient/institutional data into database(s) and ensure accuracy.
