About The Position

The Accessibility Coordinator supports the implementation of accommodations for students with disabilities, working closely with the Director to determine eligibility and ensure compliance with ADA, Section 504, and related laws. This role serves as a key resource for students, faculty, and staff, manages accommodation processes and confidential records, and collaborates across campus to coordinate services such as notetaking and housing accommodations while promoting equitable access and supporting program assessment.

  • Ability to maintain a secure remote environment, including reliable internet access and adherence to data security and confidentiality protocols.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in student accessibility support, academic advising, student affairs, or experience with programs, and/or similar responsibilities; knowledge of and interest in working in a college environment.
  • Knowledge of the legal framework involving accommodations for students with disabilities through state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Master’s Degree in student development, psychology, higher education administration or related field.
  • Experience in navigating student disability and access accommodations in a college setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director to determine eligibility and effective accommodations for students with disabilities under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act, and other applicable federal and state civil rights legislation.
  • Provide administrative support by responding to inquiries from students, staff and faculty regarding general office policies and procedures pertaining to Pitzer Academic Support Services (PASS).
  • Coordinate accommodation requests and documentation including scheduling of intake meetings.
  • Assist with communication with other departments in coordination of auxiliary accommodations pertaining to academic, housing, parking and meal plans.
  • Assist with coordination of housing accommodation committee meetings.
  • Assist with webpage and Pitzer Hub updates.
  • Oversee the notetaking process, peer notetaking and digital notetaking, including payroll.
  • Support students with disabilities by referring to appropriate resources and providing information.
  • Coordinate PASS assessment and data for annual review in collaboration with the Director.
  • May be asked to proctor exams for students with approved accommodations.
  • Assist with coordination and participate in Weeks of Welcome, Student Resource Fair, Student Accommodations Move-in Pop-up Tabling.
  • Perform other administrative duties and tasks specific to the position.
  • Participate in support groups for students with disabilities.
