  • Solid understanding of system topology, including backbone architecture and integration.
  • Proficient in wiring standards and low-voltage systems.
  • Working knowledge of network fundamentals: IP addressing, subnets, server configuration, and device connectivity.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hardware and software.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and field documentation tools.
  • Keen eye for details, with a focus on comprehensive installation documentation.
  • Effective communication skills with contractors and internal teams.
  • Ability to travel to project sites to support site surveys, jobsite oversight, testing, commissioning, and quality assurance.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in physical security system installation, configuration, and programming in mission-critical or enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience applying PoLP and RBAC principles to access group design in facilities with stringent security requirements.
  • Hands-on experience configuring mantraps, interlock systems, or layered physical security solutions.
  • Proven ability to serve as the primary point of contact for physical security vendor partners, leading competitive bid processes, scoping engagements, and overseeing installation execution to ensure on-time delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Experience with low-voltage wiring standards and both electronic security and video surveillance hardware: panels, readers, controllers, door hardware, cameras, NVRs, etc.
  • Solid understanding of network fundamentals including IP addressing, subnets, and device configuration.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with LENEL, BioConnect, and Milestone platforms.
  • Experience working with access control system APIs.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design and documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the overall security strategy across Colovore's data center portfolio, aligning access control and video surveillance design with operational requirements and organizational risk posture.
  • Assist in the design and documentation of access control and VMS architectures, including camera placement, topology, IP addressing, system specifications, and hardware layouts.
  • Apply principles of least privilege (PoLP) and role-based access control (RBAC) when designing and configuring access groups, ensuring employees, customers, and vendors are granted only the access necessary for their function.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of physical security layering, including mantrap/interlock configurations and camera coverage plans to protect sensitive areas such as data halls, network rooms, and critical infrastructure zones.
  • Bid, schedule, coordinate, and oversee vendor-performed installation of physical security hardware including cameras, panels, card readers, door hardware, and low-voltage wiring.
  • Ensure all installations comply with applicable electrical, compliance, jurisdictional, and security standards.
  • Assess and troubleshoot access control and video management networks, hardware devices, and software components.
  • Coordinate and oversee both onsite and remote testing activities.
  • Provide realistic installation timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Serve as a technical resource for cross-functional teams including IT, Networking, Compliance, and Operations during system integration efforts.
  • Conduct site surveys and pre-construction job walks to assess requirements and develop tailored access control solutions.
  • Provide jobsite leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and professional project delivery.
  • Participate in jobsite safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Demonstrate awareness of project budgets and assist with cost controls.
  • Support project closeout activities and maintain accurate as-built documentation and redlined drawings.
  • Configure and program physical security platforms including readers, controllers, panels, locksets, cameras, NVRs, and associated software.
  • Perform system commissioning, testing, and validation to ensure optimal performance.
  • Execute system upgrades, firmware updates, and software patches in collaboration with IT and Compliance.
  • Maintain thorough programming, commissioning, and testing documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
