About The Position

Jones Advisors HR Consulting is actively searching for an Access Control & Security Systems Technician on behalf of our client, S.A.M.S. Inc. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an experienced Access Control & Security Systems Technician (Installer II) to join a growing team. This is not an entry-level cable-pulling position. We’re looking for someone with 2+ years of low-voltage experience and hands-on commercial access control/security installation experience who can complete quality work with minimal supervision, troubleshoot problems in the field, and take ownership of the job. Requirements

  • 2+ years of low-voltage installation experience
  • Hands-on commercial access control installation experience
  • Commercial security system installation experience
  • Ability to read construction drawings
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to safely work from ladders and lifts
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening and drug testing

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or manufacturer certifications involving Mercury, HID, ASSA ABLOY, Allegion, BadgePass, Entrust, Avigilon Alta/Openpath, Genetec, LenelS2, CCURE, Verkada, Axis, Milestone, Hanwha, Cisco or PoE networking.
  • Manufacturer certifications are highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Independently install and assist with commissioning commercial physical security systems throughout the Raleigh-Durham area and Southeast.
  • Install electronic access control systems including card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks and electrified door hardware.
  • Install REX devices, door contacts, motion sensors and push buttons.
  • Install control panels and power supplies.
  • Perform low-voltage cabling, termination, labeling and testing.
  • Install IP surveillance cameras and NVRs.
  • Install intercom and visitor management systems.
  • Install intrusion detection systems.
  • Perform structured cabling as needed.
  • Read blueprints and installation drawings.
  • Troubleshoot installation and system issues.
  • Test completed installations and correct punch-list items.
  • Complete accurate job and closeout documentation.
  • Assist senior technicians and help mentor Installer I team members.
