About The Position

Jones Advisors HR Consulting is actively searching for an Access Control & Security Systems Technician on behalf of our client, S.A.M.S. Inc. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an experienced Access Control & Security Systems Technician (Installer II) to join a growing team. This is not an entry-level cable-pulling position. We’re looking for someone with 2+ years of low-voltage experience and hands-on commercial access control/security installation experience who can complete quality work with minimal supervision, troubleshoot problems in the field, and take ownership of the job. Requirements

2+ years of low-voltage installation experience
Hands-on commercial access control installation experience
Commercial security system installation experience
Ability to read construction drawings
Basic networking knowledge
Strong troubleshooting skills
Experience with hand and power tools
Valid driver's license
Ability to safely work from ladders and lifts
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
Ability to successfully complete required background screening and drug testing

Nice To Haves

Experience or manufacturer certifications involving Mercury, HID, ASSA ABLOY, Allegion, BadgePass, Entrust, Avigilon Alta/Openpath, Genetec, LenelS2, CCURE, Verkada, Axis, Milestone, Hanwha, Cisco or PoE networking.
Manufacturer certifications are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Independently install and assist with commissioning commercial physical security systems throughout the Raleigh-Durham area and Southeast.
Install electronic access control systems including card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks and electrified door hardware.
Install REX devices, door contacts, motion sensors and push buttons.
Install control panels and power supplies.
Perform low-voltage cabling, termination, labeling and testing.
Install IP surveillance cameras and NVRs.
Install intercom and visitor management systems.
Install intrusion detection systems.
Perform structured cabling as needed.
Read blueprints and installation drawings.
Troubleshoot installation and system issues.
Test completed installations and correct punch-list items.
Complete accurate job and closeout documentation.
Assist senior technicians and help mentor Installer I team members.
