About The Position

St. Moritz Security Services, Inc. is hiring an unarmed Security Officer to provide security services at assigned locations, with a focus on observing and reporting. The role includes monitoring activity, patrolling assigned interior or exterior areas, reporting suspicious activity and hazards, maintaining activity records, enforcing site rules and procedures, and responding to incidents and emergencies requiring security assistance. Site-specific duties may include customer service, loss prevention, lobby or visitor reception, elevator security, and loading dock security. The officer follows the Post Order Manual and company and site procedures, writes detailed incident reports, contacts designated site or field personnel as directed, participates in required orientation and training, and provides security, customer service, or support functions as assigned. The position is part-time, third shift, and pays $17.50 per hour. Five openings are listed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid registration, permit, or license required by the state of employment; Florida D License certification is listed.
Successfully complete a background investigation and, where required, a post-offer/pre-employment drug and alcohol test; some clients may require additional screening and procedures.
Maintain active required registrations, licenses, and permits, and carry the appropriate documents while on duty.
Ability to write effective, concise, and legible reports.
Customer-service orientation and ability to interact professionally and courteously with people at all levels and de-escalate potentially hostile or unsafe situations.
Ability to take initiative, prioritize competing assignments, and manage deadlines.
Professional demeanor, clear communication, and sound independent judgment and discretion.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with clients and others as a team player.
Reliable transportation or access to public transportation to arrive at work on time.

Nice To Haves

A current state driver’s license and clean driving record may be required for assignments involving motor vehicles.
Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, golf cart, or bicycle may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

Monitor and report activity at assigned locations.
Conduct foot patrols and, when assigned, vehicular, golf cart, or bicycle patrols of applicable interior and exterior areas.
Identify and report security threats, unsafe conditions, hazards, suspicious activity, and emergency situations.
Perform site-specific duties, which may include customer service, loss prevention, retail security, lobby or visitor reception, service or freight elevator security, and loading dock security.
Write detailed, accurate, and legible incident reports and maintain daily activity reports.
Follow the Post Order Manual, site rules, company policies, and procedural guidelines.
Contact appropriate site supervision or field management as directed or as needed during a shift.
Know and implement site-specific emergency response procedures.
Respond to incidents in accordance with post orders and the company Use of Force Policy, complete reports, and notify appropriate parties promptly.
Maintain acceptable attendance and comply with company grooming and customer service standards.
Participate in required company and site orientation and training.
Perform security, customer service, or support functions as directed by a supervisor or requested by the client.
