About The Position

Daikin is seeking students to join their Accelerated Management Program (AMP). This twelve-month program provides hands-on experience from the ground up, allowing participants to explore different facets of the company. The AMP has two focuses: Branch Operations and Outside Sales Track. This specific role is for the Operations side of the business, located at the Springfield, VA branch. Candidates must graduate between December 2026 and May 2027. Daikin is the world's #1 manufacturer of air conditioners and refrigerants, providing a full range of residential and commercial HVAC products. The Daikin Texas Technology Park (DTTP) is a 4.2 million square feet campus, and the company also has 210 company-owned branches across North America. Daikin, Goodman, Motili, and Quietflex are part of the Daikin family of brands, all focused on delivering indoor comfort products and services.

Requirements

  • Must graduate December 2026 - May 2027.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Marketing, Sales, Entrepreneurial Studies (or similar).
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (overall and major).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make informed and timely decisions.
  • Efficient time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective negotiation skills to manage contracts, partnerships, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and handle unexpected challenges.
  • Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to understand and manage budgets, financial statements, and cost analysis.
  • Understanding customer needs and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must have long term flexibility in location within the region (but national opportunities may be available as well) and be willing to relocate for career opportunity upon completion of program.

Responsibilities

  • Work face-to-face with customers while gaining product knowledge and learning our systems and processes (Counter Sales).
  • Gain hands-on experience with our products, including shipping and receiving materials (Warehouse).
  • Further develop the daily skills needed to become a successful Branch leader, while building relationships with our customers and sales force (Inside/Showroom Sales).
  • Develop leadership skills.
  • Provide accurate pricing and inventory information.
  • Develop and maintain relationships.
