About The Position

The Accelerated Management Development Program (AMDP) Profit Center Manager role is designed for individuals with a strong work ethic, high integrity, and natural leadership abilities. This position involves training within the Hajoca Management Development Program at an accelerated pace, learning the company's business, operations, and sales methods. The ultimate goal is to develop skills and move into a leadership role responsible for planning, directing, and leading all business operations at a Profit Center, ensuring consistent profitability. The role is accountable for achieving sales, gross profit, and profit sharing goals through effective team management, including recruitment, development, training, coaching, and evaluation. Key performance indicators include Gross Profit %, Net Salaries Ratio, Occupancy Ratio, Return on Investment, Gross Profit per Employee, and Profit Sharing per Employee. The manager will analyze financial reports, implement strategies to increase sales and margins, improve productivity, and manage expenses and assets. Building community relationships to understand the marketplace, increase market share, and identify new markets is also crucial. All business must be conducted in accordance with Company policy and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment and safeguarding all Profit Center assets.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 3 or more years of wholesale distribution experience
  • 1 or more years of leadership experience
  • Able to drive for company business.
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Able to work onsite at a location within our Southern California region
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity.
  • Possess excellent people skills, sound business judgment, and the capacity for continued growth and contributions to the Company.
  • Be able to build positive, influential relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Be able to interpret financial report data to determine success/failure of plans and to take appropriate action to adjust business plans ensuring success.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used for business operations.
  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Effectively use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain appointments and customer and vendor contact files, and to analyze performance data.
  • Have product knowledge related to the specific Profit Center market

Responsibilities

  • Train within the Hajoca Management Development Program at an accelerated pace.
  • Learn about our business, operations style, and sales methods.
  • Develop your skills and move into a leadership role when appropriate.
  • Plan, direct, and lead all business operations at the Profit Center.
  • Achieve sales, gross profit and profit sharing goals through the recruitment, development, training, coaching, evaluation, and management of the Profit Center team.
  • Determine targeted customer account potential, establish sales goals for those accounts, and hold salespeople accountable for achieving those goals.
  • Achieve upper quartile performance in key indicators – Gross Profit %, Net Salaries Ratio, Occupancy Ratio, Return on Investment, Gross Profit per Employee, and Profit Sharing per Employee.
  • Analyze available financial reports and information, implementing appropriate strategies to increase sales and margins, improve productivity, and manage expenses and assets.
  • Ensure the Profit Center meets or exceeds customer service expectations.
  • Build relationships in the community to understand the marketplace, increase market share, and identify new markets.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain and insist upon a safe working environment in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Safeguard and maintain all Profit Center assets – buildings, fleet, equipment, inventory, and receivables.
