About The Position

Northeastern Junior College (NJC) is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as the Academic Technology Coordinator. This role involves assisting faculty with instructional technology, providing day-to-day support for technology systems, and ensuring reliable, secure, and effective technology services. The coordinator will offer IT support for academic classroom technology, software, Mac hardware, Apple iPads, mobile device management, and vendor relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, Wi Fi 6E/7, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Meraki).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Learning Management Systems (D2L, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in identity, access, and security management (Active Directory, Entra ID, Touchnet Information Systems OneCard).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, M365, Intune, Defender, Exchange Online, Jamf).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in endpoint management (Intune, Autopilot, and UEM best practices).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in help desk and IT service management (ITIL practices preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain materials in the Learning Management System (LMS) for all NJC class offerings (in-person, hybrid, online, consortium, Colorado Online).
  • Maintain and test the LMS environment, including functionality and compatibility with other technologies.
  • Provide LMS course development support to faculty, including basic tool usage, document uploads, and settings.
  • Support educational technology integrations connected to the LMS (WebEx, YuJa, publisher tools).
  • Escalate unresolved LMS issues to appropriate technology vendors.
  • Manage LMS-related purchase orders, invoices, and contacts.
  • Provide training and support for faculty, staff, and students in the use of LMS tools, OneDrive, Office 365, remote teaching technologies, and classroom technology.
  • Monitor and assist with incoming help desk tickets from NJC IT and Colorado Online help desks.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support as part of the IT Help Desk.
  • Assist faculty, staff, and students with academic technology troubleshooting.
  • Develop external resources for LMS training and implementation.
  • Assess overall course curriculum technology needs.
  • Facilitate assistance to faculty in applying new and innovative classroom technologies.
  • Support technology-enhanced learning and instructional course delivery.
  • Manage the Mobile Device Management system (Jamf).
  • Manage all NJC-owned iPads.
  • Provide support for Apple Mac hardware, iPads, and related mobile device integration.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with digital book publishers.
  • Coordinate technology assets for course materials.
  • Manage course fees.
  • Manage digital integrations for the LMS.
  • Work with outside vendors to solve educational technology-related issues.
  • Coordinate with publishers and technology vendors for course materials and LMS integrations.
  • Manage student course evaluations.
  • Develop links to each course for each evaluation period.
  • Support data collection and reporting for the LMS and related systems.
  • Serve as NJC's primary contact for the Learning Technology Committee.
  • Stay knowledgeable about policies, laws, and issues affecting academic technology.
  • Communicate LMS changes affecting faculty/students to stakeholders.
  • Provide IT support related to academic classroom technology, software, Mac hardware, Apple iPads, and mobile device management.
  • Assist Information Technology with security camera systems, access control systems, large technology projects, and day-to-day technical support.
  • Support classroom and instructional technology systems across campus.
