About The Position

Replications, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic and highly skilled Academic Support Specialists to provide in-class, small-group, and individualized academic support in Math, ELA, and other core academic skills for students in grades K–5. Specialists collaborate with classroom teachers so interventions and supports align with classroom instruction, lesson plans, and students’ individual learning needs. The position reports directly to the Community School Director and works collaboratively with school administrators, teachers, and other Replications staff to support student academic achievement. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM, September through June. The position is part-time hourly and is based at PS 067 Mohegan School, 2024 Mohegan Avenue, Bronx, NY 10460. The listed date is September 28, 2026. Pay is $25–$35.

Requirements

Be DOE fingerprinted.
Have a BA/BS in math, science, or education.
Have an affinity for mathematics, writing, science, and other academic areas, demonstrated by previous positions.
Have demonstrated experience providing academic support and interventions for students in grades K–5.
Be willing to collaborate with educators to develop and implement lessons.
Be able to develop lesson plans and academic interventions based on student needs.
Demonstrate strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills for recruiting and engaging students and families.
Possess strong classroom management skills to support teachers as requested.
Demonstrate patience, focus, and a passion for working with students in under-resourced schools and in a mission-driven school culture.

Responsibilities

Conduct individual and small-group sessions focused on strategies to increase math and other academic skills.
Manage and foster relationships with scholars, teachers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure academic interventions are aligned.
Assist with developing lesson and unit plans and collaborate with classroom teachers.
Generate learning materials and resources to assist students in their learning.
Facilitate and monitor instructional accommodations under teacher supervision, including for students with IEPs and/or special needs.
Assist in curriculum development as appropriate.
Provide extra academic support for all participants.
Attend program meetings and professional development workshops as coordinated by program leadership.
Participate in special events, staff meetings, program committee, monthly cohort Services Department meetings, and school trips and afterschool events.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Community School Director.
