Parker-Anderson Enrichment: Academic Support After-School Instructor, Study Skills
About The Position
The Academic Support Instructor is responsible for creating a positive, structured, and engaging after-school environment that promotes academic success and personal growth. Working with a group of up to 20 students, the Academic Support Instructor provides homework assistance, reinforces classroom learning, and helps ensure students understand and complete their assignments. In addition to academic support, the Academic Support Instructor facilitates leadership development activities, team-building games, and enrichment experiences that encourage collaboration, responsibility, and confidence. This role also assists with the daily operations of the program, including student sign-in and sign-out procedures, snack distribution, classroom supervision, and maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment. Academic Support Instructors work closely with the Lead Instructor to ensure the program runs smoothly while fostering positive relationships with students, families, and school staff.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a group of up to 20 students throughout the after-school program.
- Assist students with homework while ensuring assignments are completed and understood.
- Reinforce academic concepts and provide individualized support based on student needs.
- Facilitate leadership development activities, team-building games, and enrichment experiences.
- Promote a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment through active supervision and classroom management.
- Assist with student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
- Support snack distribution and other daily program operations.
- Collaborate with the Lead Instructor to ensure the program operates efficiently and in accordance with program policies.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, school staff, and fellow team members.
- Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages student growth and success.
