About The Position

Under the direction of the principal, the Academic Success Coach provides academic support for high school students. The Academic Success Coach will work directly with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure success for at risk students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent related professional experience
  • Able to assess and document student academic progress
  • Professional in personal conduct and actions with students, staff, and families
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Identify students who are at-risk and assign time to support courses and groups of students
  • Effectively work with at-risk students and attend classes with a high concentration of at risk students
  • Communicate to build strong connections that support the individual student and their development
  • Implement strategic and specific support of accommodations for students in need
  • Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and administration to assess the needs of students as the whole child. (SEL and behavior)
  • Assist in the development of Personal Learning Plans for students who struggle with behavioral or academic development
  • Provide direct support service to individual students, small groups, and classrooms
  • Completes behavior assessments, referrals, and plans with students and families
  • Consults with other professional staff, outside agencies, and other organizations to provide student support
  • Work independently and cooperatively using a variety of strategies
  • Ability to plan and organize; excellent work habits including time management and study skills
  • Successful teaching/coaching of students
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration
