Under the general direction of the Director of Academic Advising, the Student Success Coordinator provides advanced-level student services and serves as the campus subject matter expert on academic success, retention, persistence, and graduation initiatives. The position exercises a high degree of independent judgment in developing, implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving campus-wide academic success programs, policies, and advising practices that directly support institutional student success goals. The incumbent independently analyzes institutional and student success data to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend policy, procedural, and programmatic improvements that influence advising practice and student success outcomes across the university. The position develops collaborative strategies with academic colleges and administrative units to improve student retention, academic standing, and degree completion. The position provides highly complex academic advising to students experiencing academic difficulty while simultaneously leading university-wide initiatives related to probation, dismissal, academic recovery, orientation, and advising services. Through strategic leadership, data-informed decision making, and cross-divisional collaboration, the incumbent contributes to institutional priorities related to student persistence, equity, and graduation.
