About The Position

The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) is a large public university committed to global engagement. Texas Global advances UT Austin’s academic mission by leading, supporting, and coordinating the university’s international engagement efforts. This position is responsible for processing study abroad credit and for recommending and implementing improvements to credit processes and technology systems. The role involves assisting students while abroad and upon return with course equivalency, credit, and grade questions, and working closely with various university offices on credit-related matters. Texas Global is comprised of nine units and is expected to continue growing.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Three years of experience with clerical functions.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in examining, organizing, and reporting information in an accurate manner.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated use of initiative and judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience providing support in a customer service environment with excellent customer service skills.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience with clerical functions.
  • Experience working with The University of Texas at Austin policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of UT Mainframe, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Canvas, and UT Box.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language.
  • Experience studying, living, or working overseas.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing documents and associated forms for education abroad credit processing, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Auditing credit forms for accuracy.
  • Working with students, academic departments, and international partners to resolve complex credit cases.
  • Managing course equivalencies in the My Credit Abroad database, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Guiding course evaluators through procedures for evaluating academic course credit earned on education abroad programs.
  • Serving as a resource for faculty and staff on course equivalencies and grade conversions.
  • Responding to requests for information from students, faculty, and staff, including academic advisors.
  • Providing reports and summary data as needed/requested.
