About The Position

The Academic Progress Analyst provides assistance to and reports to the Assistant Registrar for Academic Support. He/she also works with the Academic Support team to represent the Registrar’s Office by providing assistance to students, faculty, and staff.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of Registrar or other relevant experience is required.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Must possess well-developed communication skills with an emphasis on written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in academic processes and regulations and how they apply to student situations.
  • Must be capable of high-level reasoning for solving complex problems.
  • Must be capable of advanced logic-based decision-making.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow for professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Responsibilities

  • Complete registration and drop requests received from students and departments through direct interactions, email, phone calls, and online forms.
  • Processing of unofficial and official withdrawals and validation of FN (failure for non-attendance) grades as needed.
  • Communicate with students, staff, faculty, and other university departments in order to advise them on institutional policies and federal regulations pertaining to attendance and academic activity.
  • Assist students with Registrar-related inquiries in person at the Student Service Center.
  • Complete assessment registration and reset requests that are received through the assessment inbox.
  • Evaluate and complete requests for late registration, independent study registration, audit registration, and section switches.
  • Evaluate students for non-attendance and drop students who have not engaged in the course.
  • Provide assistance to professors in assigning/extending Incomplete extensions.
  • Occasionally required to assist with events outside of normal business hours, including but not limited to Commencement exercises.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
