About The Position

Academic Programs Administrator, School of Medicine’s Biomedical Graduate Education – Georgetown University Medical Center The Department & Academic Programs Administrator supports the academic, admissions, student life, and administrative functions of the M.S. in Biohazardous Threat Agents & Emerging Infectious Diseases, MS in Biomedical Advocacy and Policy, MS and PhD in Microbiology and Immunology programs. The position coordinates activities for more than 50 graduate students and works closely with the Department Chair and Directors of Graduate Studies to ensure smooth program operations. The Administrator plays a key role in advancing the department’s educational missions by supporting faculty, staff, and students and managing essential administrative and financial operations. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 1–3 years of administrative, database, and computer experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team
  • High attention to detail, reliability, and ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information

Responsibilities

  • Advise and support ~50 graduate students; track academic progress and compliance
  • Administer program logistics including course schedules, faculty support, events, and reports
  • Coordinate graduate admissions, recruitment, and orientation activities
  • Collaborate with University offices to advance student services and departmental initiatives
