About The Position

The Human Resource Office provides customer service and support to all Fort Hays State University employees, and we are seeking a dynamic and organized Academic Program Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent presentation and public speaking skills, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. In addition, the ideal candidate should be capable of working collaboratively within a team and demonstrate the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • two to three years of experience in an office or administrative setting
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or a related field or four years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Workday experience
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Experience in a college or university setting
  • Previous experience in Human Resources or related areas

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the Provost Office to initiate academic promotions in Workday.
  • Work in partnership with the President's office to prepare specialized employee agreements.
  • Oversee and lead onboarding process for all new full-time employees.
  • Assist all employees with general questions.
  • Prepare appointment forms for new and returning employees and employees with job or compensation changes.
  • Oversee and assign Academic Appointments, track type, and rank to employees.
  • Responsible for the management and data entry of all employee transcripts.
  • Maintain records and filing systems and utilize word processing, database, and spreadsheet skills.
  • Gather all necessary date for Berkshire to prepare the AAP report and serve as the primary contact for any questions regarding the Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Oversee Affordable Health Care Act Eligibility report.
  • Oversee Conflict of Interest and English Competency Forms.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.
