About The Position

The kiskinwahamakew ATEP Academic Learning Facilitator works collaboratively as a member of the kiskinwahamakewak team and the larger ATEP support team. Reporting to the Director of ATEP, the kisinwahamakew works to recruit applicants into the program and then works directly with ATEP students to facilitate their academic performance and success as pre-service teachers. The kiskinwahamakew ATEP Academic Learning Facilitator also provides guidance and referrals, as necessary, to appropriate academic, mental health, and wellness supports. The role of the kiskinwahamakew ATEP Academic Learning Facilitator is to develop strong trust relationships among ATEP staff and students, maintaining regular contact and providing a safe space for ATEP’s students. The majority of the students in the program are Indigenous students who come from a variety of backgrounds and with varied levels of preparedness. The kiskinwahamakew ATEP Academic Learning Facilitator is able to assess and differentiate individual ATEP student needs, develop strategies to support effective learning and achievement, and monitor overall outcomes.
