About The Position

The Academic Instructor teaches in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction in designated subject areas. The instructor fosters a positive classroom atmosphere that supports student motivation, maintains discipline to maximize learning, and builds strong student-instructor rapport. The position uses available curriculum resources, maintains student personnel folders, and records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.

The role is at Pinellas Job Corps in St. Petersburg, Florida. Job Corps is a residential career training program serving eligible young people ages 16 through 24, helping them complete high school, prepare for careers, and obtain employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• DOE certification to teach in Florida.
• Willingness to teach Math; specific subject-area certification is not required.
• Pass a drug screen in compliance with the Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Successfully complete a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities
