As a seasoned experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of UC, campus, and unit academic practices, policies, and procedures, resolves moderate to complex academic HR-related issues affecting a broad range of academic titles in imaginative and practical ways. Under general direction, incumbent manages all academic functions in the Department of Family Medicine and Radiation Oncology. This includes equal opportunity/affirmative action issues, academic recruitment, appointments, merit increases, promotions, sabbaticals, grievances, layoffs and union issues, employee relations, compensation, training and development, Advisor to the Chairs, Chief Administrative Officers (Department Administrators), and faculty with regard to Academic Personnel concerns. Responsible for academic appointments and yearly renewals of all full-time and part-time faculty.
