About The Position

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an academic Pathologist with sub-specialty training in Hematopathology. This is a faculty position on a tenure-track/tenured, fixed-term, or variable track at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The role's primary service assignment will be in hematopathology. Candidates with interests in flow cytometry or molecular diagnostics are encouraged to apply. Experienced applicants may be considered for the leadership role of Director of Hematopathology. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers strong research programs, particularly in cancer, global health, and benign hematology. The selected candidate will be eligible for membership in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and will have opportunities to teach in the School of Medicine and the Graduate School.

Requirements

  • Sub-specialty training in Hematopathology.
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Hematopathology.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina.

Nice To Haves

  • Interests in flow cytometry or molecular diagnostics.
  • Sufficient experience for a leadership position as Director of Hematopathology.
