About The Position

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an Academic Gynecologic Pathologist. This position is available on a tenure-track/tenured, fixed-term, or variable track at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The department is subspecialized in surgical pathology, and preference will be given to candidates with fellowship training and/or expertise in Gynecologic Pathology. Candidates willing to provide additional coverage in Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology and/or Cytopathology are also encouraged to apply. The role requires participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and effective communication with an active clinical care team providing statewide integrated care. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, with opportunities for collaboration with basic, translational, and clinical researchers. UNC also hosts the NCI-funded SPORE in Endometrial Cancer and a community of clinicians and researchers focused on women's health research and care through the Women’s Health Multidisciplinary Consortium (WHMC). Teaching responsibilities include clinical residents and fellows, as well as opportunities in the School of Medicine, Graduate School, and Undergraduate School.

Requirements

  • Fellowship training and/or expertise in Gynecologic Pathology.
  • Eligible for membership in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
  • Ability to teach clinical residents and fellows.
  • Ability to teach in the School of Medicine, Graduate School, and Undergraduate School.
