Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking an Academic Gastrointestinal Pathologist to join their Department of Pathology. OHSU is a prominent research university and the only public academic health center in Oregon, with a major regional referral center and a high volume of surgical specimens (over 43,000 per year). The department boasts a collegial faculty, robust residency and fellowship programs, and excellent support from molecular genetic laboratories and a state-of-the-art core laboratory. OHSU offers numerous collaborative research opportunities and is home to the Knight Cancer Institute. This position will be part of the Anatomic Pathology Division, focusing on Surgical Pathology within a subspecialty sign-out model. The role involves clinical service, teaching, and sharing evening and weekend call. Research participation in clinical and basic science programs is also expected, with efforts to secure funding through grants and contracts. The current effort distribution is 10% teaching, 80% clinical service, and 10% research.
