About The Position
The Lansing School District is seeking an Academic Counselor for its Summer School program in Lansing, MI. This role is part of a variety of positions available for the summer. The district serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students and is committed to providing an excellent education in a safe and nurturing environment. The Academic Counselor will work for 6 weeks, with two counselors splitting the program into two 3-week sessions. The first session runs from 6/08-6/25, and the second session runs from 7/06-7/23. The daily schedule is 6.5 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Requirements
- Must be available for the full 6-week summer school program.
- Must be available to work Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
- Must be able to split the 6-week program into two 3-week sessions.
- Internal applicants in the aligned bargaining unit will receive preference.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic counseling services during the summer school program.
- Split responsibilities with another counselor, each covering a 3-week session.
- Work Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 2:30 pm for 6.5 hours per day.
