About The Position

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of obstetrics and gynecology and pediatric/adolescent gynecology. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates must be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and have completed a fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology or have significant experience in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, with an ABOG-focused practice designation in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. Teaching responsibilities may include clinical training and supervision of medical students and residents and participation in formal teaching curriculum. Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient prenatal, pediatric, adolescent and adult gynecology care, labor and delivery coverage, and pediatric and adult gynecologic surgery. The successful candidate would join a group of full-time obstetricians and gynecologists, advanced practice providers including midwives in a faculty practice at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and join the Division of Adolescent Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills are required. A commitment to resident and medical student education is required. Requirements

  • M.D. or equivalent degree
  • Board certified/eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Completed a fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology or have significant experience in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, with an ABOG-focused practice designation in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology
  • Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to resident and medical student education
  • Working knowledge of applicable hospital policies, practices and protocols as well as applicable regulations and guidelines
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications (Required proficiency)
  • Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving, decision-making (Required proficiency)
  • Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic) (Required proficiency)
  • Medical License - in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and any states practicing in - upon hire
  • DEA License - upon hire
