Tutors assist student-athletes in a controlled academic setting to communicate subject knowledge/study skills while practicing the highest level of academic integrity and provide information regarding the access of academic resources. Tutors will work in a one-on-one or small group setting and are expected to establish rapport with the student-athlete while exuding patience, trust, and confidentiality regarding any correspondence between tutor and student. Tutors are required to file individual reports regarding each meeting with a student-athlete by the end of the evening of each appointment. Tutors will be trained at the beginning of each semester on the specific NCAA rules applied to working with student-athletes. Hours per week may fluctuate from week to week depending on student need, tutor availability and student-athlete competition schedule. Tutors will be paid $12/hour. At the end of each semester tutors will be evaluated for continuing employment. If invited back, hourly rate will increase by $1/hour each academic year, capped at $16/hour.
