About The Position

One-year limited-term Academic Associate position to teach in the Legal Studies programs starting August 1, 2026, and ending July 31, 2027. This position reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities. The position is subject to budgetary approval. Requirements

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching with an ability to utilize a technology-enhanced approach to facilitating student learning.
  • Proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Evidence of an ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with a range of faculty, staff and students.
  • A PhD in Law (or cognate discipline); ABD may also be considered.

  • Experience researching and/or teaching in the following areas: LGLS 1000U Foundations of Legal Studies, LGLS 2940U Legal Research Methods, LGLS 3230U Law and Globalization, LGLS 3410U Labour and Employment Law, LGLS 3610U Employment and Mediation, LGLS 3700U Law and Power, LGLS 4099U Legal Studies Integrating Project.

Responsibilities

  • Teach seven courses in the Legal Studies Program across the Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer terms.
  • Prepare, deliver and grade all course material, assignments, quizzes and exams as assigned.
  • Be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course.
  • Supervise teaching assistant(s).
