About The Position

This position assists with academic programming and courses for high school students attending Summer Discovery at UT Austin in June and July. The role is ideal for current UT students seeking a fun, short-term summer job. Assistants must be available to work on campus Monday-Thursday (with some Fridays) from June 15-26 and/or June 29-July 17.

Requirements

Must be a current student at The University of Texas at Austin
Must be eligible to work (per UT Austin) during Summer 2026
Must be available to work during Summer Discovery summer sessions and predetermined shifts

Responsibilities

Taking and reporting daily attendance for assigned courses.
Assisting course instructor with basic classroom needs, such as classroom setup and helping with supplies or copies.
Acting as class leader during field trips with assigned course, as needed.
Serving as mentor and campus resource for high school students attending the program.
Ensuring program and Youth Protection Program policies are always followed.
Collaborating with residential staffers to ensure high school students are supervised during transitions to/from academic times.
Remaining in communication with Program Coordinator and Academic Coordinator during assigned shifts.
