About The Position

The Honors Program Advisor is an energetic and collaborative member of the Pennoni Honors College. Serving approximately 1600 Honors Program students, the Honors Advisor is integral in supporting students in understanding Honors graduation requirements, probation processes, and helping students create their Honors plan of study.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or experience in Academic Advising with Honors education or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Be proficient and comfortable with technologies related to the academic advisor role.
  • Appropriately manage sensitive and private information.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, time management, record management, and general administration.
  • Knowledge of academic advising tools and resources.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Advises Honors Program students to help ensure achievement of Honors and Honors with Distinction requirements, including liaising with academic advisors in home departments, assisting students with scheduling, onboarding new students, communicating graduation clearance and probation status, overseeing the probation process, tracking student progress, pulling OAS reports, assisting in student registration requests, updating attributes in Degree Works, running sophomore and junior review processes, maintaining advising records, working with Honors Program staff to establish clear advising policies, monitoring and communicating Title IV compliance, and supporting students through developmental advising.
  • Participates in student recruitment events for the Honors College and assists with reviewing incoming applications.
  • Assists with review and approval of Honors Options and special events programming.
  • Develops collaborative relationships with departments and units that offer services to support student success.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Compensation for this grade ranges from $45,330.00 - $68,000.00 per year.
