About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Chair of Neurology and Director of Neurology, this role administers faculty actions and coordinates educational activities for the Department of Neurology at Brown University Health. This includes managing fellowship programs, Continuing Medical Education (CME), and faculty development. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to compose letters and reports for promotions and appointments.
  • Strong attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to think critically to prioritize multiple tasks and function independently.
  • Knowledge of graduate medical education (fellowship), faculty development, and continuing medical education in an academic setting.
  • Minimum two years related experience developing educational programs.

  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Initiating and completing all faculty actions required by the Alpert Medical School, including medical academic searches, new hospital-based and community faculty appointments, senior promotions, and reappointments, following Brown BIOMED policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating Neurology Department Continuing Medical Education programs, including Grand Rounds, conferences, and special symposia.
  • Collaborating with the CME Coordinator to ensure appropriate CME accreditation.
  • Serving as a resource to program participants and hospital staff regarding CME programs and acting as a liaison for these programs.
  • Participating in the planning of departmental CME educational workshops, symposia, and lecture series.
  • Initiating, planning, and directing faculty development programs to support faculty in teaching, evaluating trainees and other faculty, and meeting Brown University Medical School standards.
  • Serving as the administrative representative to the faculty regarding faculty development issues.
  • Performing administrative tasks related to Faculty Development Workshops, including scheduling, booking rooms, sending event advertisements, tracking RSVPs, applying for CME credits, and coordinating refreshments.
