About The Position

This is a stipend opportunity for current ABA Specialists to provide mentoring support to new ABA Specialists. The goal of this program is to improve staff morale, provide a development/leadership opportunity for experienced ABA Specialists, contribute to the development and success of new and existing staff, support ABA Specialists who may not have a support system within their schools, and compensate ABA Specialists who are already providing informal support to new staff. The mentoring support will be provided outside of the current ABA Specialist’s contracted working day.

Requirements

  • Currently in the role of ABA Specialist for at least 6 months.
  • 3-5 years experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, students with moderate/severe disabilities or related disorders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in ABA intervention including data collection and report writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately and consistently follow Behavior Support Plans and Curriculum Plan.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with students, families, teachers and administrators.
  • Proficiency in the Google Suite (gmail, google docs, google sheets).
  • Demonstrated growth toward cultural competence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mentoring support to new ABA Specialists outside of contracted working hours.
  • Use the New Hire Training Tracker to guide training and ensure all items are checked off.
  • Communicate at least once a month with Program Directors about mentees' progress and upon completion of training.
  • Document all performance issues/concerns.
  • Fade supports in the first two months based on mentee's needs.
  • Support 3-5 mentees at any given time, meeting primarily in small groups with additional 1:1 sessions if needed.
