About The Position
This role is for a Behavior Technician who wants to do meaningful work with a young child. The position involves providing ABA therapy to a brilliant 4-year-old male in Yonkers, NY, who is experiencing moderate-to-severe behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will be steady, patient, and able to navigate difficult situations with empathy and scientific principles.
Requirements
- Possess unshakeable zen energy that can outlast any tantrum.
- Think fast on your feet and remain calm under high-pressure, high-emotion situations.
- Be reliable and show up consistently.
- Ability to de-escalate wild situations using a calm voice and sheer empathy.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ABA therapy.
- Experience working with children.
- High tolerance for "corporate BS" is not required, but a lack of it is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use ABA therapy to help a child unlock his best self.
- Be present and authentic; the child is perceptive and will sense any negativity.
- Celebrate small victories, such as a child learning to express frustration verbally instead of through destructive behavior.
- Meticulously document progress and track trends in areas like emotional regulation and successful transitions.
