About The Position
The Ab Initio Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines and data integration solutions using the Ab Initio tools suite. This role requires strong experience in building and testing graphs and ETL applications, familiarity with the Ab Initio tool suite and Unix/Linux environments, and expertise in enterprise-complexity ETL solutions. The developer will also design ETL frameworks for audit and data reconciliation, develop ETL jobs for automation and performance optimization, and integrate relational databases. Additionally, the role involves providing technical leadership, collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing technical documentation, ensuring compliance with policies, and mentoring junior developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Master's and 5+ years of experience, Bachelor's and 7+ years of experience or 13+ years in lieu of a degree.
- Experience identifying requirements, researching options, designing, and implementing solutions at a leadership level on project work.
- Experience scripting in a Linux environment to automate ETL solutions and data migration jobs.
- Experience with data warehousing designs/concepts such as star and snowflake schemas.
- Understand and apply quality techniques and practices (automated unit testing, Test Driven Design/Development, performance analysis, continuous integration).
- Ability to assist with architectural tactical thinking, information solutions and road maps to drive architectural recommendations.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Detail oriented and committed to consistently completing repetitive production-like tasks on-time and error-free.
- Prior experience working in a federal agency or public sector environment.
- Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.
- Strong experience with designing, developing, and maintaining Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines and data integration solutions using the Ab Initio tools suite.
- Strong experience in design, building and testing graphs and ETL applications using Ab Initio 4.
- Familiarity with the Ab Initio tool suite and Unix/Linux environments.
- Strong experience in enterprise-complexity ETL solutions using Ab-initio suite including products such as GDE>Co-Operating System, Express>IT, Data Quality Environment (DQE), Continuous Flows, Amazon S3 utilities.
- Strong knowledge of Ab Initio lifecycle analysis, designs, implementation, and code migration.
- Strong experience with SQL, mapping, and integration of relational databases such as DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Greenplum.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines and data integration solutions using the Ab Initio tools suite.
- Design, build, and test graphs and ETL applications using Ab Initio 4.
- Implement enterprise-complexity ETL solutions using the Ab Initio suite, including GDE, Co-Operating System, Express>IT, Data Quality Environment (DQE), Continuous Flows, and Amazon S3 utilities.
- Perform Ab Initio lifecycle analysis, designs, implementation, and code migration.
- Design ETL Framework for audit and data reconciliation to manage batch and real-time interfaces.
- Develop ETL jobs for automation and monitoring, and optimize job performance.
- Integrate relational databases such as DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Greenplum.
- Automate the loading of data from multiple sources into BI/MI systems.
- Analyze and develop optimal code for processing large volumes of data.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective search features.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and deliver knowledge transfer sessions.
- Ensure compliance with SSA security, privacy, and data management policies.
- Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills.
- Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
