About The Position

This is a 100% on-site position in Woodlawn, MD, requiring the selected candidate to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines and data integration solutions using the Ab Initio tool suite. The developer will work on enterprise-complexity ETL solutions, design ETL frameworks for audit and data reconciliation, develop ETL jobs for automation and performance optimization, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities also include preparing technical documentation, providing technical leadership, and ensuring compliance with security and data management policies.

Requirements

  • Master's and 5+ years of experience, Bachelor's and 7+ years of experience or 13+ years in lieu of a degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience identifying requirements, researching options, designing, and implementing solutions at a leadership level on project work.
  • Experience scripting in a Linux environment to automate ETL solutions and data migration jobs.
  • Experience with data warehousing designs/concepts such as star and snowflake schemas.
  • Understand and apply quality techniques and practices (automated unit testing, Test Driven Design/Development, performance analysis, continuous integration).
  • Ability to assist with architectural tactical thinking, information solutions and road maps to drive architectural recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to consistently completing repetitive production-like tasks on-time and error-free.
  • Prior experience working in a federal agency or public sector environment.
  • Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.
  • Strong experience with designing, developing, and maintaining Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines and data integration solutions using the Ab Initio tools suite.
  • Familiarity with the Ab Initio tool suite and Unix/Linux environments.
  • Strong experience in enterprise-complexity ETL solutions using Ab-initio suite including products such as GDE>Co-Operating System, Express>IT, Data Quality Environment (DQE), Continuous Flows, Amazon S3 utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Ab Initio lifecycle analysis, designs, implementation, and code migration.
  • Strong experience with SQL, mapping, and integration of relational databases such as DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Greenplum.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines and data integration solutions using the Ab Initio tools suite.
  • Designing, building, and testing graphs and ETL applications using Ab Initio.
  • Designing ETL Framework for an audit and data reconciliation to manage batch and real time interfaces.
  • Developing ETL jobs for automation, monitoring and responsible for job performance optimization using ETL development tools or custom developed procedures.
  • Automating the loading of data from multiple sources into BI/MI systems.
  • Analyzing and developing optimal code to maintain high performance for processing large volumes of data.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective search features.
  • Preparing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and delivering knowledge transfer sessions to SSA staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with SSA security, privacy, and data management policies.
  • Briefing management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience.
  • Providing guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned or directed.
