About The Position

The A&P Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs on company aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance programs. This position supports the safe and reliable operation of Bristow Special Mission’s fleet, including Embraer EMB-120 aircraft.

Requirements

  • Current and valid FAA-issued Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply aircraft maintenance manuals, technical publications, engineering documents, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to accurately complete aircraft maintenance records and related documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented maintenance environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required.
  • Must obtain and maintain any additional qualifications, authorizations, or certifications required for assigned duties.
  • The employee must be able to perform the physical functions necessary to accomplish aircraft maintenance duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequently standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, and working in confined or restricted spaces.
  • Using hands and arms to operate tools, equipment, and aircraft components.
  • Climbing ladders, maintenance stands, and aircraft access points.
  • Working above shoulder level and in awkward or physically demanding positions for extended periods.
  • Regularly lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling tools, equipment, parts, and materials.
  • Performing work requiring sufficient visual acuity, hearing, manual dexterity, and coordination to safely complete aircraft maintenance activities.
  • Working around operating aircraft, vehicles, machinery, and maintenance equipment.
  • May be exposed to varying weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, fumes, chemicals, lubricants, fuels, and other conditions associated with aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Must be able to use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • All new employees will be required to verify employment eligibility in accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) or more years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Experience maintaining aircraft operated under 14 CFR Part 135.
  • Experience with Embraer EMB-120, DHC-8, King Air, or similar aircraft.
  • Experience with electrical and avionics troubleshooting.
  • Completion of an FAA-approved aviation maintenance technician program or equivalent qualifying experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs on supported aircraft.
  • Supports the launch and recovery of aircraft for scheduled and unscheduled flights.
  • Performs general aircraft maintenance, including aircraft washing and corrosion prevention and control activities.
  • Completes maintenance tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Lead Mechanic, or other authorized maintenance leadership.
  • Accurately documents all maintenance and inspection activities in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company procedures, and applicable maintenance requirements.
  • Completes required documentation associated with parts removal, installation, and turn-in.
  • Assists other maintenance personnel with aircraft maintenance and related tasks as required.
  • Maintains proper control and accountability of tools, equipment, and aircraft parts.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work areas and follows established housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention practices.
  • Provides on-the-job training and technical assistance to other maintenance personnel as assigned.
  • Attends required training and actively participates in on-the-job training to maintain and expand aircraft knowledge and qualifications.
  • May temporarily perform Lead Mechanic or supervisory responsibilities when assigned by authorized maintenance leadership.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain Required Inspection Item (RII) authorization based on operational requirements.
  • Complies with all applicable safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
