About The Position

USAirports is a family-owned, full service FBO that operates 24/7/365 and serves the aviation community in a state-of-the-art facility on the south side of the Frederick Douglass - Greater Rochester International Airport. USAirports provides a full range of amenities and ground support services such as fueling, deicing, hangaring, aircraft maintenance, cargo handling, tie-down, and ramp parking to the airlines, general aviation, and transient aircraft on the airfield. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Required documentation: valid Driver’s License, birth certificate and/or passport.
  • Able to pass a 10-year background check, receive and maintain an airport security badge.
  • Must be able to acquire a customs seal through Customs and Border Patrol
  • Able to successfully complete pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screens
  • Excellent dependability, communication, and professionalism required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Have a broad knowledge of and experience with the maintenance of aircraft of the class, category and type authorized.
  • Hold an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled, unscheduled, or special inspections in compliance with regulatory authorities and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance and repairs on aircraft, engines and a variety of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components and accessories such as propellers, starters, generators, fuel pumps, hydraulic pumps, actuators, wheels, tires, and brakes.
  • Troubleshoot and perform structural repairs to airframes, including sheet metal work, riveting, patching, and fiberglass/composite work.
  • Perform system troubleshooting and operational and functional checks; service oil, fuel, and hydraulic systems; provides nitrogen and oxygen servicing; inspect and repair pitot static systems and battery services.
  • Make required work order entries for discrepancies and corrective actions.
  • Remove and install aircraft components. Install optional or added equipment to aircraft.
  • Perform aircraft engine run and taxi, as qualified, to test system performance. Participate in maintenance test flights for system performance, troubleshooting and alignment.
  • Understand the operation of various airframe and power plant systems.
  • Ensure the calibration of all shop test equipment is accurate by using shop calibration records and procedures and report discrepancies to management.
  • Assist and train other technicians in repair of systems, structures and engines when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
