About The Position

The purpose of this position is to repair and maintain HVAC units at City facilities and assists with plumbing and electrical work. This job works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Requirements

Requires an Associate's degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education.
One year of HVAC experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
HVAC technician certification.
TDLR HVAC technician license.

Responsibilities

Maintains City heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems.
Performs regular preventative maintenance on various types of air-conditioning units.
Replace belts, filters, motors, etc.
Maintains job work order logs.
Estimates costs of repair projects in terms of labor and material.
Determines which maintenance tasks the City may perform and which tasks must be performed by outside contractors.
Maintains supplies and equipment in proper manner.
Develops and maintains inventory log of all city HVAC units.
Maintains assigned City owned tools and equipment.
Identifies issues related to operations and maintenance of HVAC systems and for identification of the most appropriate and cost-effective means of addressing issues.
Assists with plumbing and electrical repairs and/or replacements.
Performs related work as assigned.
