About The Position

The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails. This position is located at South Toledo Bend State Park in Anacoco, LA. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance, groundskeeping and custodial duties to help maintain cleanliness and a safe environment for the customers. This includes operating and repairing equipment, performing grounds maintenance such as mowing and trail cleanup, and preventative maintenance on all rental facilities including cabins, group camps, meeting rooms, bathhouses, etc. This position will also assist in indoor and outdoor custodial duties as needed, for all rental facilities and outdoor spaces.

No experience or training required.

Responsibilities

Performs corrective maintenance and repairs of park structures including plumbing, changing breakers, lighting, cleaning air vents, etc.
Maintains the park grounds such as mowing, weed eating, blowing, litter pickup, etc.
Operates vehicles, utility vehicles, mowers, weed eaters, blowers, tractors, pressure washers, etc.
Repair bridges, walkways; paint and stain park structures; clear trails; maintain grills and fire rings, etc.
Ensure cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the buildings on site such as cabins, group camps, lodges, bathhouses, meeting rooms, etc. Duties would include but not limited to, disinfecting, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, mopping, sweeping, dusting, etc.
Perform any and all custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions.
Removes trash and prepares dirty laundry for pickup.
Cleans & picks up litter/trash from bathhouses, campground areas, and day use areas.
Assists customers with questions and concerns.
Provide park and local community information to customers.
