About The Position

Blue Origin is hiring a 9E System Responsible Engineer to support development and operations of the New Glenn 9X4 launch vehicle and serve as stage engineering lead for the next-generation 9E reusable booster. The role supports a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed to carry people and payloads to Earth orbit and beyond. The System Responsible Engineer is the authority for the system’s functional architecture, design, integration, and testing. Working closely with the stage-level Chief Engineer and subsystem and engine Responsible Engineers, this person integrates systems and serves as the primary contact and integration engineering focal for the engine-to-vehicle interface. The role includes design trade assessments, design review support, advice on major vehicle decisions and changes, and responsibility for engine and fluids/mechanical interfaces spanning multiple modules or business units. The position also develops and maintains operational documentation, plans and supports testing, provides console support during integrated tests and launch and recovery operations, analyzes test data, and supports failure analysis and corrective actions. The base pay range for Washington applicants is $145,188.00–$203,263.20; ranges at other sites may differ. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted to the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
