About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an 8th grade math teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is available at KIPP Impact Academy. Teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned by their Principal. The current model involves four "home room" teachers on each grade level, each responsible for teaching a core subject to every student on that grade level. Class size is typically about 26 students. Subjects include English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science. Fifth grade is considered part of the middle school model.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in Math 5-9 (for grades 5, 6, 7, or 8) or Math 6-12 (for grades 6, 7, or 8)
• At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom
• Possesses a deep commitment to creating an inclusive, healthy, and empowering community for our students
• Passing a background check, as required by law
• Background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse

Nice To Haves

• Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress) if teaching English Language Arts
• ESOL Endorsement (or competency coursework in progress)
• Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom in a relevant grade level
