About The Position

The 8th Grade Content Teacher- Math/ Science will create a warm and welcoming school culture that is driven by student achievement, growth, and commitment to students in an urban environment.

Requirements

Valid PA Certification
Bachelor’s degree
Ability to adjust instructional strategies in order to reach year-end goals.

Responsibilities

Implement Universal’s curriculum and instructional strategies and utilize classroom routines and procedures with consistency.
Develop rigorous lesson plans, homework assignments, and assessments in accordance with established procedures.
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Maintain discipline in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data and use data to inform instruction.
Collaborate in grade-level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student mastery of standards.
Form and maintain relationships with students’ families, including phone calls and conferences.
Participate in ongoing professional development in the spirit of continuous improvement.
Perform related work as required.
