About The Position

Dayton Leadership Academies is seeking a 7th & 8th Grade Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will plan and deliver engaging lessons, create a positive classroom culture grounded in DLA's core values, and assess and monitor student progress to ensure all students are in relentless pursuit of excellence. Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Ohio State Standards, utilizing the Eureka Math curriculum and high-quality instructional materials.
• Create a positive classroom culture grounded in DLA's core values.
• Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments, including state-required assessments.
• Plan student interventions and differentiated instruction based on assessment data.
• Collaborate with grade-level and house teams on curriculum and student needs.
• Help prepare and implement Section 504 and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for eligible students.
• Share knowledge and resources to enhance the educational process.
• Implement effective classroom management procedures and teaching techniques.
• Vary instructional techniques to address individual learning styles.
• Integrate technology into the instructional program.
• Promote the proper use and care of school property and ensure student safety.
• Evaluate student progress and assign grades using an online grade book.
• Prepare students for proficiency on interim and state tests.
• Communicate with families regularly for positive recognition and support.
• Contribute to school-wide goals and student goals.
• Implement school and district policies and procedures.
• Supervise students at all times and supervise non-classroom activities when assigned.
• Participate in school events such as open houses, family conferences, and award ceremonies.
• Maintain accurate records and submit reports on time.
• Serve on at least one school committee and/or coach/advise an extracurricular activity.
• Coach other teachers and mentor a tutor or resident, as needed.
• Monitor use of the Intra/Internet to ensure compliance with school guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
• Perform other specific job-related duties as directed.
