Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
  • Valid Math 6-12 or Math 4-8 Georgia Teacher Certificate
  • None Previous Work-Related Experience

Responsibilities

  • Educates students on a daily basis, managing the classroom environment and encouraging student growth and achievement.
  • Plans and executes curriculum by setting clear objectives for lessons and projects.
  • Adapts teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
  • Utilizes technology for effective instruction.
  • Creates a conducive learning environment through organized classroom management and activities.
  • Assesses student progress through tests and assignments.
  • Helps students meet learning targets.
  • Communicates relevant information to students, staff, administrators, and parents.
  • Manages student behavior in the classroom.
  • Prepares objectives and outlines for courses of study.
  • Establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
  • Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to students' needs.
  • Instructs through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
  • Utilizes technology and other materials for presentations.
  • Plans and conducts activities for balanced learning.
  • Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and classroom procedures.
  • Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities.
  • Organizes and labels materials and displays students' work.
  • Instructs and monitors students in the use and care of equipment.
  • Prepares, administers, and grades tests and assignments.
  • Observes and evaluates students' performance, behavior, and development.
  • Administers standardized tests and interprets results.
  • Assists students who need extra help.
  • Guides and counsels students with academic or personal challenges.
  • Meets with parents to discuss student progress and needs.
  • Provides accommodations for students with disabilities.
  • Meets with other professionals to discuss students, such as when preparing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborates with colleagues on curriculum development.
  • Attends professional meetings and workshops.
  • Confers with staff members to plan lessons.
  • Participates in staff meetings and committees.
