6th Grade Long Term Substitute Teacher

About The Position
This is a long-term substitute teaching position for a 6th-grade class, running from mid-September to mid-December. The role requires a candidate knowledgeable in classroom management, capable of being a role model for students, and skilled in utilizing formative assessments. The substitute will be responsible for instruction and supervision of students.
Requirements
- Michigan Certification and Endorsement for appropriate grade levels required
- Must meet all of the NCLB qualifications
Responsibilities
- Instruction and supervision of students
- Knowledgeable in classroom management
- Be a role model for students
- Utilize and understand formative assessment
- Help monitor hallways and school grounds
- Be involved in after-school and extracurricular activities
- Keep accurate classroom records
- Attend conferences and workshops to keep current
- Work as a team member
- Supervision of students as needed
- Other duties as assigned by administration when a sub is not needed
