About The Position

This is a long-term substitute teaching position for a 3rd-grade class. The role involves implementing lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and ensuring student safety and engagement. The position offers opportunities for professional growth, career advancement, and a flexible schedule aligned with school district calendars. "When school is off, you're off!" The pay is $125 per day.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test.
Ability to quickly establish rapport with students and adapt to different classroom settings.
Strong classroom management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with the school's policies and procedures.
Flexibility and adaptability to different teaching assignments.
Completed background check and clearance.
Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.

Responsibilities

Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the absent teacher.

Deliver lessons in accordance with the established curriculum.

Foster student engagement and participation in classroom activities.
Encourage a positive and respectful atmosphere for effective learning.
Supervise students during class time, transitions, and other school-related activities.
Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
Communicate effectively with students, school staff, and administrators.
Provide feedback on the day's activities and report any issues or concerns to the regular teacher or school administration.
Adhere to school and district policies and procedures.
Implement emergency procedures when necessary.
Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
Uphold high standards of behavior and ethics.
Be flexible and adaptable to different grade levels, subjects, and school environments.
Follow the guidance provided by the regular teacher and school administrators.
Utilize classroom materials and technology as specified in lesson plans.
Leave the classroom in an organized state for the returning teacher.
