About The Position

Dayton Leadership Academies teachers plan and deliver engaging lessons, create a positive classroom culture grounded in our core values, and assess and monitor student progress so that all students are in relentless pursuit of excellence. Nice To Haves

  • Effective use of technology (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, online attendance and gradebooks).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons utilizing provided curriculum (Wit and Wisdom) and high-quality instructional materials.
  • Ensure lesson plans align with the school's academic program and Ohio State Standards.
  • Plan student interventions and differentiated instruction based on assessment data.
  • Collaborate with grade level and house teams on curriculum and student needs.
  • Assist in preparing and implementing Section 504 and Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for eligible students.
  • Share knowledge and resources to enhance the educational process.
  • Create effective and engaging learning experiences.
  • Implement effective classroom management procedures and techniques.
  • Vary instructional techniques to address individual learning styles and provide differentiated instruction.
  • Integrate technology into the instructional program and demonstrate professional use.
  • Promote the proper use and care of school property and ensure student safety.
  • Evaluate student needs using formative and summative assessments.
  • Prepare students for proficiency on interim and state tests.
  • Evaluate student progress and assign grades using an online grade book.
  • Maintain high standards and uphold the student conduct code.
  • Communicate with families regularly for positive recognition and support.
  • Contribute to school-wide and student goals.
  • Implement school and district policies and procedures.
  • Supervise students at all times and during non-classroom activities as assigned.
  • Participate in school events such as open houses, family conferences, and award ceremonies.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit reports on time.
  • Serve on at least one school committee and/or coach/advise an extracurricular activity.
  • Coach other teachers and mentor tutors or residents as needed.
  • Monitor use of the Intra/Internet to ensure compliance with school guidelines.
  • Respect personal privacy and maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Perform other specific job-related duties as directed.
