About The Position

This position is for a 6th Grade Classroom Teacher with a Math Emphasis. The teacher will be responsible for providing students with age-appropriate learning activities and experiences in core academic subject areas, helping them reach their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The role involves nurturing the comprehensive development of all children using a broad repertoire of instructional strategies that honor varied learning styles. Effective communication with students, parents, and staff, both in writing and verbally, is essential. The teacher should demonstrate a willingness for continued professional development, establish and maintain classroom behavior standards for a productive environment, and participate effectively as part of a work team. Adherence to building and district policies regarding attendance, business procedures, safety, professionalism, and personal appearance is required. Responsibilities also include maintaining student records, achievement, and attendance using district-approved technology, and maintaining confidentiality. Other duties as assigned by the building principal.

Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certification required with emphasis in Math
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited College or University
  • Criminal background check including fingerprinting required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Eureka Math Squared Curriculum preferred
  • AIMSweb training desired
