About The Position

Hamilton County Schools is committed to excellence for every student. With nearly 75 schools across the district, we are focused on helping all students thrive and experience a future without limits. Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts (CSLA) is a K-12 magnet school. We are a Nationally Accredited Paideia school and this philosophy permeates every classroom and every lesson daily. This 5th grade position will teach both Science and Social Studies. Academics are the priority at CSLA, but it is important for our students who come from all parts of our county to connect through additional activities. Applicants for our teaching positions must be willing to support students beyond the academic offerings. This includes clubs and/or athletics.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required
Valid Tennessee teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5) OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program
Positive, student-focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
Committed to high expectations and academic achievement for all students
Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth

Nice To Haves

Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus
Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards
Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
Collaborate regularly with colleagues and support staff
Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families
Create a well-managed, structured classroom environment
Participate in ongoing professional development and reflection
Support students beyond the academic offerings, including clubs and/or athletics
