5 Axis CNC Programmer

Skilcraft LLC

About The Position

We are seeking a skilled 5 Axis CNC Programmer to join our team. This role involves developing, writing, and optimizing CNC programs for complex aerospace components using 5-axis machining in Mastercam. You will create and refine advanced multi-axis tool paths for intricate geometries and hard-to-machine materials, and program/support CNC lathes with live tooling for mill-turn aerospace applications. The position also includes assisting in setup, program prove-out, and validation on Makino machining centers and CNC lathes, as well as performing simulations and verifications using Vericut. A key aspect of this role is interpreting aerospace technical drawings, CAD models, and GD&T with high accuracy, and selecting appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, and machining parameters. You will also troubleshoot machining and programming issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain program documentation, and drive continuous improvement in cycle times and process reliability, ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and aerospace industry standards.
