About The Position
This posting is for a teaching position at Bayview Education Centre. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) was established on April 1, 2018, to deliver the public school program focusing on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs. The jurisdiction encompasses the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness and Richmond. Teachers hired or recalled into new positions will be required to participate in a New Teacher training if they have not already done so.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia.
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition.
- Excellent classroom and student management skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning.
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies.
- Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning is a requirement.
- Experience teaching Health or Family Studies.

Responsibilities
- Teaching 5/6 ELA, 7 Science, 8 Healthy Living, and Food and Nutrition 8.
- Participate in New Teacher training if not already completed.
- Provide at least three (3) work-related references, including the most recent supervisor.
- Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.
